About Me

My photo
I am a single Grandma of 5 kids and 7 grandkids. My home nest is in Queen Creek, Arizona where I have a beautiful view of the San Tan Mountains. After living my entire life in California my son gifted me with a beautiful 2 story nest almost 4 years ago. My days are spent in semi-retirement taking care of my 4 year old grandson, Caydon. My favorite times are when my entire family gets together!

Merry Christmas to All

Our celebration began when Jeremy, Audra, with her three kids, and Sasha arrived from California. By Christmas Eve the energy level had risen to an all time Edwards family high. the grand kids all gathered around the computer to follow the progress of Santa and his reindeer toward Queen Creek.

At one point 4 year old Conlan squeezed his fisted hands to his cheeks and jumped up and down with blissful excitement. He could hardly stand it!

When Santa arrived in Wisconsin the kids sent Conlan home to bed and all rushed upstairs to read "The Night Before Christmas". Snuggled in their make-shift beds the Mom's could only hope they were sleeping with visions of sugar plums in their wee little heads. Christmas day was blessed with a crazy gift opening frenzy. While snacking Tristan found himself wishing for his one front tooth for Christmas.

When the kids finished opening their gifts it was a little difficult to find a few things including one-year old Kyla.

I could barely find my living room!

The day proceeded from one tradition to another. The McCoy's gifted us with the, to date, worst Christmas movie ever. "The Dangerous Christmas of Little Red Riding Hood". Christmas is never complete without the annual wrapping paper fight which miraculously left the tree in one piece. Tristan caught his Auntie Sasha totally by surprise with a behind her back rim by wrapping throw.

Speaking of throws, Uncle Bear (Jeremy) created a new jingle bell tune of his own using Kyla.

The most exciting happening for all the adults was a mid-day Christmas nap. Good zzzz's were had by all.

After naps the guys got cozy with a Christmas toast.

The adults finally exchanged gifts later in the day, due to a bad case of the lazies. An early executive dinner decision by all members left all tummies full on BLT's and milk shakes. Now with everyone on relax mode I leave you with a toast to the new year. Happiest of joys in 2009!

Happy Holidays to All!

Our holiday began with a great trip home to California for Thanksgiving. It was a wonderful trip and a rare memory making time since it is hard to get the family all together these days. My cup full I returned home to launch into Christmas.

The first thing we marked off our holiday list was taking Caydon to see Santa. As you can see it was not his favorite Christmas event. He did however enjoy the "Christmas Spectacular" performance at the Performing Arts Center. Conlan, Jenna & Bryan's son, enjoyed the snowball fight afterward. A lot more than the performance I think.

As Christmas approaches we are decorating, baking and waiting for the California crew to arrive. I will have the joy this Christmas of having all 5 of my children and all 5 grandchildren here plus Pumpkin, Jenna's baby-to-be, who could arrive any moment. Merry Christmas and may you all snuggle in for a Happy Holiday!
